Ireland Atlantic Coast

Some of the inlets from the ocean are very long and narrow like this one into Killary Harbour. It is more like a fiord really. There are any mussel and fish farms all up the inlet as the tide rushing in and out is perfect for them (top photo). The road follows the edge of the inlet down one side to Killary Harbour then along the other side at the base of the steep green treeless hills opposite (bottom photo). There are lots of small waterfalls carving their way down the hill and under the road into the inlet. The icy winds (this is summer!!!) were causing waves.
